The Explore Nepal Group has received many awards. These are for commitment to environmental conservation and eco-tourism.
Kathmandu Environment Award - 2001 by Kathmandu Metropolitan Corporation
The Explore Nepal Group was awarded this award for improving Kathmandu's environment. The award acknowledged our advocation for clean air and a plastic-free environment, campaigns for cleaning up public places, such as Balaju, Tundikhel and Ratna Park.
Abraham Conservation Award - 2002 by World Wildlife Fund (WWF)
This award was established by WWF US in 1995. The Explore Nepal Group received the award for environmental awareness and conservation.Several of our activities in the Kathmandu Valley were recognized by WWF. Through this award the WWF recognized our instrumental role in having diesel tempos (small 3 wheeler taxis) banned from Kathmandu and our campaign against the use of plastic and our role in heritage conservation.
Nepalese Ministry of Population and Environment (MOPE) Environment Award - 2003
The Nepalese government has recognized The Explore Nepal Group for our major environmental efforts. Our promotion of eco-tourism and campaigns against the use of plastic bags have been praised by the ministry. These activities were implemented in different parts of Nepal. Similarly other contributions were also undertaken in the Kathmandu Valley such as raising environmental awareness on solid waste management and taking various actions to combat air pollution.
Association of German Travel Agents and Tour Operators (DRV) INTERNATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL AWARD 2003
The Explore Nepal Group has been recognised internationally as well. DRV gave this prestigious award for our outstanding environmental and eco-tourism contributions. Our efforts towards sustainable tourism were highly praised by DRV.
PATA Environmental Award - 2004, 1999, 1998 & 1997
The Explore Nepal Group has won this award multiple times for our contributions as a socially responsible tour operator.
The Pacific Asia Travel Association is the recognized authority on Pacific Asia tourism. It was founded in 1951. PATA gives awards to tour operators for outstanding performance in travel and tourism.
